Green example: sustainable campus with LEED Platinum Certification


A while ago, these gorgeous green roofs were installed on this business campus in the United States. Sempergreen supplied the Sedum-mix blankets for this ambitious project.

A while ago, these gorgeous green roofs were installed on the multi-level, 350,000-square-foot campus of LG Electronics Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Sempergreen supplied the Sedum-mix blankets for this ambitious project, which provides office space to around 1,000 employees of LG Electronics.

LEED Platinum Certification

This world-class building doesn’t only feature a sustainable Sedum roof, but solar panels, five wetlands, a retention pond and energy efficient building systems as well. It has come to no surprise, therefore, that the project has earned a LEED Platinum certification. This is in full alignment with LG’s long term goals for sustainability management.

Sedum Roof Benefits

Sedum roofs are a simple, quick and low maintenance way to give a positive boost to the local environment. The Sedum plants absorb CO2 & particulate matter, retain stormwater and increase the biodiversity in the area. They are good for humans too. Being surrounded by greenery improves their well-being and performance.

WGIN Elects new President and Vice – President | Press Release

June 20, 2025: Brussels – The World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN) is pleased to announce that Steven W. Peck, GRP, GRIMP, Honorary ASLA, founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (North America), has been elected as President of WGIN for a two-year term. Professor Marta Weber Siwirska, president of the Polish Green Roof Association was elected as the new Vice President. Professor Manfred Köhler, who has provided outstanding leadership in advancing green infrastructure across the globe as the President of WGIN will now serve as Past President for a two year term.  “Over the years, WGIN’s leader have worked to promote urban green infrastructure solutions thanks to the inspiring leadership and the huge knowledge of Professor Manfred Köhler. He helped the World Green Infrastructure Network to lay the foundation for where we stand today. As we look to the future, I am excited to work with Marta Weber-Siwirska and my new colleagues to continue the mission of rapidly deploying green roofs, walls and other forms of green infrastructure in cities worldwide”.
